A problem that is often underestimated is the dimensional evolution of the lids. These essential elements, used at every stage of the pressing process, are subject to repeated friction inside the mould. Over time, this friction can have harmful consequences:  

• Damage to the mould pattern : The internal pattern is crucial to the formation of a quality rind on your cheeses. An oversized lid can damage it.  

• Progressive deformation of the mould: Excessive pressure from an oversized lid can deform the structure of the mould. This can lead to significant trimming and cheese loss.  

• Risk of breakage: In extreme cases, deformation can lead to mould and lid breakage.

That’s why Servi Doryl has developed a unique, customized lid dimensional tracking service. We set up a simple and efficient process: 

1. Agreed frequency: Together, we define the optimum frequency at which you send us your lids and moulds, clearly identified. In fact, to ensure pairing between mould and lid, it’s best to send them together, as both may have evolved in the same way. As an example, we usually carry out this measurement every 6 months for some of our customers.   

2.  Precise measurement: Our specialized teams precisely measure the dimensions of each lid and mould.  

3.  Tracking evolution: We record and track the dimensional evolution of your mould park over time.  

4.  Proactive recommendation: Thanks to this monitoring, we can anticipate wear and tear and recommend the ideal time to take over your molding tool park and restore it to its optimum dimensions.
